Forthcoming on Get On Down: Special Ed & Raekwon

The hard working team at Get On Down certainly are not disapointing collectors. Hot off the heels of their recent Juke Box binder of classic Rap 45s comes news of two more scheduled vinyl releases on the seven inch format expected to be released next month. This news comes to light even as thier last round of 45s are still yet to see general distribution.

This time we get two more tracks off the classic Raekwon's album Only Built For Cuban Linx from 1995. Ice Cream see it's first pressing as a 45, with Incarcerated Scarfaces on the flip side. As welcome as these tunes are (And believe me, double copies will be essential), I find it an odd choice considering Get On Down just released Criminology and Glaciers Of Ice only a couple of months ago. Is this a sneak preview of a forthcoming album release spread over a series of 45s? This would certainly be inline with how Get On Down has released other classic Hip Hop albums.

The second forthcoming 45 that has come to our attention is I Got It Made from Special Ed, including the classic Businesslike version - Both versions produced by Howie T. This is a faithfull repress of the original 45 that was released back in 1989 on Profile Recordings. It's worth noting that I Got It Made only very recently made it's way onto the bootleg series of 45s on the Originals label.
